Is there anybody out there who thinks High N Dry is not the top Def Leppard Album?

Hard to say it's my favorite because DL albums go in cycles for me. High 'N Dry is definitely excellent though, especially the first five tracks.

I'll go with that.
It has grown on me in the last couple of years.
Overall, Hysteria & Pyro have the hits that are always great, but Slang overall is my favorite album, and my least will always be there first. The songs are good on OTTN, but the production kills it. The Live BBC show from the time is far superior.

High n Dry is the only DL cd i listen to. One of the best heavy metal albums of the 80's.

Hysteria is too pop, or should i say "sugar" coated for my tastes.

High N Dry is by far THE BEST DL album. Every single song rocks. Steve Clark was amazing. Bringin On The Heartbreak and Swicth 625, what more can I say.

I just recently discovered High 'N' Dry. I was only familiar with Bringin' On The Heartbreak until I bought the CD a couple of months ago. It is neck and neck with Pyromania. If I was made to choose, I would say Pyromania by a hair....Love them both, though.

Nope. While Pyromania and the B-sides from Hysteria/songs on Retroactive come close, High & Dry makes me think of what Def Leppard should be.

H&D is a great album but Pyromania really holds a special place for me. I remember listening to that on my Walkman and rollerskating around all the time, LOL Great times. It took some getting used to for Hysteria but I really like the album, overproduction and all. Am I the only one who hears Floyd's Goodbye Blue Sky in the title track?

Nope. Not sure if they admitted to that one though. They've always wore their influences on their sleeves. Listen to Armageddon It... Bang A Gong (Get It On)

As i often do while working, i listened to this album at work this week..

i hadn`t heard it in YEARS. probably since i was like 16.

This is a kickass album. Enough so that i just bought it on CD now.. i really really like it. I think i had it on cassette back when i was a teen, but that`s long gone.

I remembered Bringing on the heartbreak and High and Dry well.. but it`s the other songs that really are kickass. i cannot get Mirror mirror out of my head.. it`s genious.
Lady Strange and the instrumental (switch 625) are also excellent.

I can definitely see the ressemblance between the beginning of ''you got me running'' and king of the nighttime world, but it doesn`t matter.

great rock album!!

High & Dry is my favorite Def Leppard record by far.

I'll listen to a few jams from On Through The Night or
Pyromania once in a while, but High & Dry is the only
Leppard LP i ever find myself listening to all the way
through, which happens almost every time i put it on.

So fucking good. Cool

I like the songs, but the AC/DC influence is so heavy on that album.
